Recruiting is like shaving - you had better do it every day, or you will eventually end up looking like a bum. |
Right now, I'm sitting here struggling for answers. Our approach to the game [at Louisville] was most concerning to me. Louisville came in saying it was a do-or-die game, and they played like it. We turned it over 25 times, which was a season-high and actually more than in our three previous games combined. We shot it abysmally. We didn't defend the way we can. And we didn't match their intensity nor their focus on either end. |
Saturday is a whole new game and we're going to be depending on those same guys we were depending on (Wednesday). |
Since I've been here, he has as much talent as any walk-on we've had here. He's a talented kid. He's strong. |
Small things like that mean a lot to kids. It was important to him, and if it's important to him, it's important to me. |
Sometimes you just get caught up in such a funk you don't have energy and you put so much pressure on the rest of your game cause you don't make shots. |
Talk about a reversal of fortune. |
That [shot] was the turning point in the game. |
That gives him some flexibility to continue to do some administrative stuff and also be on the floor. |
That scares me. He's a tough kid. He makes big shots. He makes them go. |
That was a heady play, Devan had him in transition and he attacked him, it was smart. He was going to try to drive it through him, the kid was back- pedaling and it's hard to get stationary. It was a huge play, really. |
That was our Super Bowl. |
That was very uncharacteristic of our team. Our guys didn't handle the entire situation very well and one thing led to another. We compounded our mistakes and allowed one to turn into another. You can not be tentative against pressure. Louisville sensed our tentativeness and fear and jumped on us and took us right out of the action. We got what we deserved. |
That's certainly still our goal. When it's all said and done our strength of schedule will be No. 2 in the country behind probably only Duke's. ... Honestly as I'm sitting here today I'm scrambling for answers. But if we can somehow, someway take care of business I think we will put ourselves in position to continue to fight through March. |
That's not smart on my behalf, but I don't know what my options are. He's going to get physically worn down. No question. He got tired and with that he lost some aggression and we started settling and a six-point game turns into a 16-point game before you know what's happening. |
