It was by no means a historic election with people pouring back into the city to choose the leader who's going to bring them out of the wilderness. Maybe they're not coming back. Maybe they don't see any hope. Maybe they're literally on the verge of changing their addresses. It's something I'd be concerned about if I was a New Orleans official. |
It will be interesting to see how far this Legislature will go; in Louisiana, the public generally agrees with the pro-life position. The committee action in this case is the key. . . . I would be surprised if it came out (of the committee) without amendments. |
