Despite three rounds of Iraqi elections, 845 brave young Americans died in Iraq in 2005, only 3 fewer than the 848 lost in 2004. Also 30,000 to 100,000 innocent Iraqis have been killed in the wake of the U.S. invasion. George Bush and Dick Cheney are personally responsible for each of those deaths, because they deliberately lied to Congress and the American people to start this disastrous and never-ending war. |
I think it's an example to people around the country. A majority of Americans support impeachment. They're looking for leadership, and San Francisco's providing it. |
Our primary issue is lying about the Iraq war. We can show that he knowingly lied about the reasons for that war. The voters need to understand that the Democrats are willing to hold them accountable and pursue this. |
Solid majorities support Bush's impeachment for his Iraq War lies (53%-42%) and for his illegal wiretapping (52%-43%). And these polls were taken before George Bush sold vulnerable port operations to the royal family of Dubai, which sent his approval rating plummeting down to 34%. |
The wiretapping really changed things. I think we're one moderate-level scandal away from a large outcry for impeachment. |
