That, ... was not an option.

That's always the first test, the first day with hitters. I feel like I'm getting stronger every time. I didn't throw as many strikes as I wanted to, but that's what you expect your first time out. I was pretty happy with the way it went.

The best way to describe it, ... is you have a quarter-inch rock in your shoe and you're just running with it all the time. It's irritating. You feel like you can't do what you want to do.

The trade gave me a chance to pitch and grow. In retrospect, it worked out well. It allowed me to establish myself at the major league level.

The ultimate responsibility falls on me. We have a lot better team this year, regardless of this streak. I don't know why this is happening.

These streaks come and go. It's just a bad time for us. That's for sure.

They were hacking at the first pitch I threw every time. It was a good test. I got ready quick. I got ready in the middle of an inning. I definitely left a few pitches up, and that's going to happen for me early because I'm still in that feeling-out stage early after surgery.

This is probably the most frustrating time I've ever had. It seems no matter what I do right now, it goes wrong.
|
This is something I've been dealing with all year, ... It's gotten to the point now where I'm going to get it looked at and get it fixed.
|
To me, that wasn't an option,

We have a lot better team this year, regardless of this streak. We have a better team, I don't know.
|
We should have won the game. I stunk it up.

What difference does it make? It's still my job to get them out. You've just got to keep going.

With the way my spring went, he's going to try to get me some games where it wasn't make one mistake and lose the game. I can respect that. I can understand where he's coming from. Obviously it's frustrating. I want to pitch. I want the ball. But you can't blame them because I threw the ball (badly) this spring. I also have confidence in how I can throw, what I can do. I'm going to get into a game.
|
You definitely get the blame because the game's won, ... I hold myself accountable.
