[I'd like to see us get] four points from them. We can only play one period and one shift at a time, but we can't afford to play slow. |
[Northeastern] had some good fortune. |
[The game on Sunday] had some similarities to [Saturday]. We stayed pretty on-track and we played pretty consistently. We never quite got in sync on the power play, but there was no lack of effort and no lack of poise. |
[The physicality] is a little rivalry. But that stuff happens sometimes when you're tired - you don't have as much spring to avoid hits and you don't have as much control of your emotions and control of your body. |
A to Z it was a wonderful effort by her. I don't think she had any chance on either goal. |
All I ever saw Sarah Russell play was forward. I asked her two days before the season started, 'What are your thoughts about playing defense?' and she said, 'Oh I love it, I've played it all my life.' But she has wonderful stick skills and an innate confidence as a competitor, and she was clearly one of our top defensemen all year. |
Brown has a long standing tradition of excellence. They are a well-coached team and a national power. We are excited for another good test. |
But whatever your system is, you still have to have good players and we had some kids who would shoot the puck and would get goals around the net. |
Certainly in the second game we were more prepared. I like our odds better here at Walter Brown, but that's the way the schedule falls. |
For a low-scoring game, both teams had a lot of offensive opportunities. We came out flat which was kind of disappointing, but then we played two very good periods. |
Games are decided on special teams. Ultimately, we lost this battle against BC, and we want to improve that against Maine. |
I didn't think at any part of the game we really brought our A game. We kind of hung in there and showed some heart, but at no point did we really control the game. |
I expect a real good effort and a competitive effort. I expect a team that is more accountable when it comes to the mental aspects of the game. We weren't very accountable these last few games and we need to return to the top of our game. |
I said earlier in the season that I thought [Maine] had a chance to be a little bit of a sleeper team. We want to make sure, whether or not you call it being a spoiler or just playing as hard and as well as you can, that we represent Boston University well. |
I think the third period was our reward. We went through a time there, with the second game against BC, the game against Brown and last week's game against Harvard where we were putting in the hard work with no reward. The third was our reward and we were able to capitalize and put a couple goals in. |
