For Warsaw's size, the current state of the system is in rather good shape. Most communities have multiple overflow systems that discharge almost every rainfall. What Warsaw is dealing with, in my opinion, is fairly simple. |
If we're talking about chemical or biological agents coming in, or God forbid a nuclear device, the fact is that drug dealers have been smuggling drugs in for years. It shows us how porous the U.S. is to illegal substances coming in, and in large quantities. |
Storage seemed to be the most feasible alternative and the best option for the city. Other means for sewer correction were either more costly or would disrupt the system during improvements. |
Sul Ross and the city completely blew me away. I am making future plans right now to take my family back and visit the area. It's just beautiful. |
Warsaw's model looks good, but I'd like to see higher storm events for better accuracy in our overflow estimates. Overall, I believe the request to be generally acceptable, but I'm sure IDEM will have things to add and improve. |
