Mark has improved a lot more than we were led to expect.

Mark is going to attack anything he can to get better.

More consistent pitching creates a positive mindset in the offense. If we continue to pitch well, that just relaxes us as we go forward, and we realize multiple runs [in an inning] our not a necessity.

Not yet, ... We'll see. He has taken to the long relief part of it quite well.

One of the things I love about Mark, Mark attacks his weaknesses. He turned himself into a Gold Glove first baseman. A lot of people would have used the position change as an excuse. He's very driven, a self-starter.

Padilla has been very fluid with his motion, free and easy. He's had a pretty good face since he's been here. He knows some people in the organization and he likes the place and the weather. He has had a smile on his face, which is not always the case with him.

R.A. threw some real good knuckleballs. He wasn't as consistent with the command of it. He threw some good ones to (Mike) Sweeney, I thought.

Rod's going to be OK, ... It was more getting over the injection than it was the swelling. He's fine today.
|
That put a damper on the day, Mike and Tex shaking hands and saying goodbye.
|
That's a sensitive area. We have to be sensitive to what's going on in the world of baseball.
|
That's just where he fell.

That's not unusual to see that in Spring Training, but it was down. I'm sure he felt it [on Sunday], but he didn't tell us until today.
|
That's something every team will have to deal with. This is one of those Spring Trainings when you just have to roll with the punches.
