Hopefully we're growing. We may not have advanced, but hopefully we're growing and maybe the young kids understand what it takes to get to this level. Now we've got to figure out how to get back. |
I was disappointed. It had nothing to do with the score. It was just the way we started the ball game. This is region. You can go home [after a loss]. It's not like, 'OK, you played bad and you lost; you can come out and get better in practice.' If you lose now, you go home. |
It's definitely going to get tougher. [The players] know it. But sometimes it's like when you know it's going to snow, but it doesn't hit you until you're actually out there in the snow. You can prepare and the players can be ready, but until it happens, and see how you react to a good team, you don't ever know. |
It's great just to have a player mentioned. Just having someone on the list, once a school gets recognized, it can open things up for other players later. |
It's great to be able to know that you can go deep on your bench if people get in foul trouble or get tired or are having an off night. |
Losing Meredith hurt our rotation more than anything else. With her in there it allowed me to rest certain people. But when when she left, I couldn't do that and it was a factor. |
She had a will to compete. She would play any position for us, one through five. |
She was just like another starter for us. She gave us energy. |
The seniors realize this is an opportunity they may never have again. We're trying to get everybody working together and pulling for each other to make this a memorable run. |
There was some intrigue in starting this program from scratch. Getting these girls from three high schools to come together as one and really work together has been great. |
When you get in foul trouble it helps to know you have solid people to bring in and help out. It's also helped in practice, when we have a second team that can keep up with the first team. |
