I just like to use the football analogy. I'm the head coach and my job is to direct the team down the field and throughout the game. But Vern and Todd are the star quarterback and the star defensive player. And Tracy is the all-conference player and my directors are the all-conference players. So it's very much a team-oriented thing. But yes, ultimately I'm the guy who has to decide what we cover and when. |
I think eventually it's going to a point where leagues and conferences will end up producing coverage of their own sports and use TV and the networks as a delivery vehicle. |
I think the only time people notice something is when you do something horribly bad, you miss action, you miss the key basket or you don't have the significant replay or you just do something so incredibly out of the ordinary — like cut to the ball in the Masters. |
I'm sure that's a long way down the line. But probably not as long as you think. |
We have a game plan. We have an anticipation based on all our research, all our conversations with the teams of how the game may be played out and we develop our game plan and strategy based on that. |
