I know that's kind of contrite to say, but I look at myself as one of the younger veterans on the team, |
I live part-time in Manhattan, so I'm very familiar with the area, ... Being from Miami, I love hot and humid weather, so I feel right at home here. ... I'm staying at a really nice house that a friend of mine lent me. So instead of being in a hotel, it's a little bit more of a homey feel. |
I played really really well today, ... I had more putts that could have gone in, but I made the putts when I needed to when they counted. |
I think all of us kind of realize that we can compete with her and we have been the last couple of months, |

I think LPGA players for a long time were afraid to say what's on their minds. But we're doing all the right things and there's nothing wrong with having some great personalities and rivalries and some friction. I think that's really good for the sport. |
I think there are still some things they need to work out in the formula. It's new, so you have to figure there will be some tweaking involved to make sure it's a valid ranking. |
I'll tell you, it will be hard to play against her. I'm glad I'm her teammate. |
I'm feeling better now, but I'm a little tired now, ... I slept so much yesterday that it was kind of hard to sleep through the night. But I feel fine. |
I'm going to keep believing in myself, |
I'm just ecstatic and I'm excited. I played really, really well today. It was a great day for me. I relied on my experience and my patience and I was able to hang on. |
I'm playing so well lately that I have a lot of confidence, |
I'm really looking forward to this week rather than feeling pressure. I really know the course well. It's a good test of golf and has great scoring opportunities. |
I've played well, but things haven't quite come together, ... I'm a little disappointed with the way I've played the last month and half, but that's golf. |
It astounds me that I just keep getting better. I'm going to keep believing in myself and realize that look at Annika, when she was winning two, three tournaments a year, people were like, well, how much better can she get? I think, why can't I do that. |
