Comeback hockey is very tough this time of year. I didn't think we came out moving our feet; they did. The first one (goal) we kind of gave it to them. You could tell we just weren't focused. I hope that was a good wake-up call for them (his players). There's no excuse for that. |
I am emotionally drained. The injuries kept on occurring ... but what an effort by our guys. |
It's always a difficult season when a season ends. I thought we put it all out on the line. It seemed like when we made a mistake, we paid for that mistake. They capitalized on our breakdowns. |
That was a real battle. Both guys played extremely well. Both teams left it all on the ice. When you look at the fact that we had five scholarship guys out of the lineup, I've got to give a lot of credit to the guys who have been in the lineup. They've been competitive in every single game. They've played their hearst out. |
Their goaltender bailed them out big-time. It's just one of those things where it escapes four sets of eyes. It's a shame because we certainly earned it. |
We did a real good job on the five-on-threes, but we spent too much energy killing penalties and not enough time on offense. It's frustrating to play that type of game. |
We played a real smart road game. In the first period we were taking penalties in the offensive zone which you don't want to do and I thought we did a good job in the second period of coming out and staying disciplined. |
We want to take advantage of the opportunity that we're playing at home for the last weekend of the regular season against two very good opponents. What better way to get tuned up for playoff hockey? I see this weekend as being no different than how we're going to have to play in the playoffs. We want to finish as high as we can. We don't know what opponent we'll have, but we don't want to be complacent. We want as many points as we can get out of the season. |
