Caleb's done a great job all spring. His release has improved, his passing has improved. He knows the offense and he's fired up to get back out there and get going. |
From now on, we'll bring the quarterback over to the sidelines after he (spikes the ball), and you can be in whatever personnel group you want, but the quarterback's going to know what's he's doing for those two plays. |
I knew right from Justin's first step. |
I know fans have been really tough on Justin, but they have to remember that things were different when Van Pelt was the quarterback. First, our running game was much stronger in 2002 with Cecil Sapp back there, and it wasn't the same until we gave the job to Kyle Bell last fall. And our defenses were more dominant back then. Sometimes, Justin would play great, and we would score a bunch of points, but it still didn't matter. |
Kyle Bell is a stud, Luke Roberts is a stud and everybody already knows what a great player Anderson is. And Justin made some big-time throws. |
Most people would be on the beach drinking beer on spring break, but not Caleb. He never stops working. |
We just haven't been able to get it moving on the ground. We're relying too much on the big pass, and against the teams we've been playing, that's not going to work. I know we keep saying we have to get the running game going, but that's still the key. We know we can throw the ball down the field. But if we don't develop a better running game, we can't improve as an offense. |
We just turned it off. I didn't need to see it. You learn from your mistakes and focus on the future. |
We were a real explosive offensive team at times last year, but we weren't as consistent as we need to be. I'm hoping our leadership and experience will make us more consistent, everybody buckling down and being tougher. |
