Don't make music because that's what's cool. We almost started out doing that. |
Our bass player ended up with a black eye, he was hit a couple of times, but other than that we did all right. We all escaped. |
Our first record wasn't really . . . I don't know . . . us. I mean . . . it had no feeling at all. People still loved the record, and that's awesome. But we didn't want to do that again. We wanted to sound like a real band. |
Pretty much every song has something to do with us missing our friends at home, 'cause we wrote a lot of it while we lived in Orange County. 'Sidewalks' is a lot about our friends back home in St. Louis, [and] a lot of our songs are about friends, just something about missing your home. I don't know. We're not too mad about anything. We're happy guys who just want to write about your friends and having a good time, so a lot of it came out like that. |
We didn't have a lot of good songs; we were all about just playing good live shows. We didn't even care about the music; that was secondary. We just cared about working real hard. |
We just came from the UK, the collective countries, and we flew straight into another UK. |
Yeah, I hear a lot of good things about Australia. |
