That's going to be a huge issue that we haven't addressed yet. In all likelihood I would frankly expect that taxes would actually probably go up for town residents, relative to city residents.
Towns have very little control over stopping annexations as the laws currently exist.
We don't have a lot of leverage to stop annexations.
Years ago a town would have, on average, 20 acres annexed in a given year. Last year alone 120 acres were annexed. The rate is happening faster and the parcels that are going are bigger. Which I don't think bodes well for the town.
