When you can't make plays under pressure and you're not willing to win 1-on-1 battles, then I guess that's the game. Then the bounces. I'd like to see how many bounces go to the team playing with more desperation. That's kind of the way it happened tonight.

When you do it and do it well, it's a good sting. That's the difference.

When you play sloppy like that, you get what you deserve. You're just looking for an honest hockey game from your team, and for the most part we got it. We didn't get it from everybody.

Whether it's Marty or the team, you can't win if you give up five in the playoffs.

You always have some question marks about the odd player here or there, but they are so few and far between. With the way the players take care of themselves, I'd be amazed if there's very many positives.

You can say simplify, but then you get into having your head down and giving it away. What you have to do is recognize the situation when you have to move it.

You go through stages after getting bounced sooner than you'd hope to. You go through your angry stage, where you feel like you should still be playing. And then you go through the stage where you start planning and want to get things corrected. And then you get to the anxious stage, where you feel like you want to get going and get some of the planning out of the way. We're getting to the anxious stage here. We want to get going and see what we come up with.

You have to believe in your team. Just because you change lines or do something, doesn't mean you believe in them any less. You're trying to give them instant recognition.
You have to earn the right to be a good team. You have to earn it every day during the season.
You have to fine-tune. We try to go into each game and say, 'Here's a focal point.' We want to make sure going in that things are right.
You look at what's down the standings, with everybody so close, the difference between four or five teams could be a point or two.
You put a desperate team on the power play nine times in the first two periods, and you are going to get what you earn. The referees were a non-factor tonight. It was all us.
You think about a lot of situations. That's just part of coaching. You're trying to find solutions every day. We haven't had enough of them in the playoffs.
You try to stop the bleeding. You have to recognize what's happening. You have to recognize the situation and fix it. You don't fix things by talking about it. You fix things by doing it.
You watch that team, and he's a dynamic player. He's great one-on-one. The thing that jumps out is how hard he works to score goals.
