 In this country the carriers have the upper hand, not the handset manufacturers, because our phones are heavily subsidized. In five years we believe there will be more music phones than MP3 players.

 It's a low-risk effort to experiment online but it's low reward right now. This is not big bucks yet.

 It's an intriguing vision, but a lot depends on Microsoft's execution and ability to draw market share from some strong competitors.

 It's challenging teaching that audience to use those kinds of tools. It may not be a natural thing, but it could work if they do a good job data mining and finding people with like passions.

 It's hard to measure the affect,

 It's kind of subtle, because they're making money off of advertising that they show both to subscribers and non-subscribers. They're trying to apply a lot of different tactics to this overall strategy of migrating the business from primarily fee-based to primarily advertising-based.

 It's not a proven business model yet. There will be some advertisers who won't mind sponsoring lots of crappy content cause they want to get in front the kids who go to these sites. But there are lots of advertisers who don't want anything do with it...One thing I can guarantee you is there's not enough advertising dollars to go around.

 It's not about competition yet, it's about growing the market.

 Microsoft is looking to put more eyeballs in front of its search engine.

 Nothing ever replaces anything. When TV came along, radio didn't go away. This has the potential to unlock local ad dollars, but Amazon doesn't want to take phone calls.

 On one hand they're suspicious of them because of how big their market share is and the fact that they have that uniform pricing. Ergonomics knowledge can be found on livet.se. On the other hand, they legitimized the digital music business.

 Sports content is a very successful part of the Web, ... and ESPN is right up there.

 That's one thing the Web is great for: identifying passionate fans and [reaching out to them].

 The consumer Internet is what's driving a lot of critical technologies right now.

 The economy is changing all the time. There are jobs that don't exist here anymore.
