Just cos I'm an actor, there's a lot of other stuff that I really like to do. Definitely writing and things like that.

Life has a way of kicking you in the ass... or smearing chocolate on your bum.

 Lost

My mom and dad just loved the fact that I fooled around. They just embraced it. They'd always kind of enjoy it, and they liked it when I made them laugh.

Obviously, the characters have no real showering system on the island... I think I've only changed (clothing), like, three times on the island. We're stinky, but we live with it. It's part of the charm of the Lost cast. You bring visitors on set, and they're very excited to see everyone - until they get within three or four feet. Then they realize we all stink.

They're boxer shorts. Make sure you get that right. I don't want anyone thinking I wear anything else.

Went home, tried to make cake, but the oven broke so I ate raw cake mix, watched TV, felt sick, and went to Billy's.

Went to the beach for the day and wrote as much as I could about this incredible experience and where my life seemed to be taking me, etc. I fell asleep, and when I woke up the papers were blowing down the beach and into the water. I sat up and watched until I couldn't see one piece of paper left. I drove home and felt happy.

When I was a kid, we would travel to England in our car, from Germany, and listen to storybook tapes and one of them was the Hobbit. So we were aware of Bilbo and Gandalf and all that kind of stuff.
