People need to use public transportation because our roadways are overloaded with cars. Roads appear to be like parking lots. |
That is the quickest way to reach everyone. We need to get enough people together, but this is very preliminary. We must take small steps to get to a big step. This will not happen quickly. |
The Carnegie Historical Society had records of it. |
The community must initiate this. It cannot be done by PAT. Jeff Stephan, executive director of the Carnegie Community Development Corporation, had a group there that evening. |
There is no way we can cover the cost on our own. The grant money has disappeared. It's all going to Katrina [victims]. |
There is nothing specific in terms of development at the moment. I am personally involved with Blueprint Communities and we are thinking of this in terms of a jump start for this town in whatever form it takes. Apartment buildings are the kind of things that this town needs. |
They are killing the borough by not paying for it. |
They changed the town and this is why this kind of thing would do well in Carnegie. PAT will give a power point presentation and residents will be able to present comments. Nothing has been decided and this will be a prelude to a planning session. We have not actually planned anything here. |
We give our volunteer fire company $27,000 and $35,000 for a truck plus insurance. We give them a lot of money, but the emergency vehicles go outside of Carnegie. We shouldn't pay for gas. We have to rethink that and reduce the amount. |
We must stop there. We have $500,000 in the sewer account and $367,000 was already taken out. This is a travesty to the public that we are raiding the sewer fund. We have raised rates from $1.75 to $4 per 1,000 gallons. |
We need to get a group of citizens together to forge ahead. We need to present something such as a vision to PAT. Before we do anything, we must have a comprehensive plan and it must be up to date. |
