At that point, we had played probably our worst game of the year [a 41-30 loss against Ellington] two days before, so to rebound and beat them really showed our resilience. |
Every time we lose it's a bit of a struggle, but we realize that we've competed in every game. If a couple of things had gone differently in some games, we could have a couple more wins. |
Granby is a good team. They punish you for your mistakes. All things considered, they took it to us. They made the most of our mistakes. |
It was a much needed win. |
It was another tough loss. The effort was great. I appreciate the effort. It's almost like groundhog's day. We play good for stretches of the game. Then we have a few stretches where we struggle and then we fight like crazy at the end to give us a chance to win. |
Making the tournament has certainly been our focus. We have a tough road to get there, but it's our focus and goal and we're going to keep plugging towards it. |
Overall our defense has been a general constant for us. We've only given up more than 50 points in one or two games. Certainly, we could still improve at it. |
The difference in the game was the huge percentage of free throw makes. |
The goal is to win four of eight to try and get to the state tournament. It's going to be a tough stretch, but if we pick up some of the things we did last week, we're going to be in these games with a chance to win. Hopefully, Tuesday night turns out to be just a blip and more of our solid play will step forward during the last few weeks. |
Tim was very solid all night. The neat thing about it was he was very consistent all game. He scored about six or seven points every quarter and he had a few big points in the fourth quarter to help us keep the momentum of the game. |
Tolland is an exceptional team. They probably have the best player in the league. We definitely have our work cut out for us. |
We were never down more than 10 points until the end. I thought we played well. We worked hard and competed well. We made some mental errors and they hurt us on the boards. |
We're still trying to get better and we want to make the state tournament. |
We're trying to develop our younger guys. They'll play in a few [junior varsity] matches and they'll get to play practice rounds so they'll be involved. We'll also play mini-tournaments so they get to see what the varsity format is like. |
