Barring any unforeseen circumstances, it is our plan to welcome students back Monday. We won't have students in that area (where the fire occurred) for this entire school year.
It was of electrical origin. It started at a computer workstation. It's a tragic situation, but it was ruled an accidental, electrical fire. The fire marshal was able to conclusively locate where in the class it was started.
They won't come Monday. We're not really sure about the timeline at this point. We just want to get them back to school as soon as possible.
We declared it an emergency situation here at Edward Bell so we can just work as quickly as possible. That's the biggest thing is getting (students) back to school.
We have had inquiries from different organizations that want to help as far as school supplies. Teachers are in the process of compiling a list of needs. We're just working to take inventory right now, and we're also looking at the needs of our students. You know a lot of them had their supplies at the school.
We have not made a decision yet when they will be made up. We'll be looking into that and getting input from the board.
