[The first single from her upcoming CD is the title song] Who We Are ... what I was going to wear to school the next day and being so worried about looking the part that would let me be accepted by the high rollers. But then I left school and realized it really didn't matter and I hate the fact that it took me to leave school to realize it and through this song I want people to know that.

a step in the right direction for pretty young things with big voices and ample ambition.

I actually only went to high school for six weeks. I lost sleep deciding on what I would wear the next day or who I had to impress. I was just a much more down-to-earth, relaxed person once I decided not to care what people thought of me.

I am so excited about working with Jesse, ... I haven't met him yet, but I hear he is a really nice guy and it will be my pleasure to work with him on this tour which will bring us to New Orleans on August 9.

I grew up listening to Patsy Klein, Reba Mcentire and would study their voices. But once I became bored with that, I moved on to more contemporary stuff like Sheryl Crow and I combined everything that I had learned from country and rock and made this CD.

I just couldn't sing them because I couldn't relate, ... I knew that I could be performing these songs for years and years and I didn't want to sing something I couldn't relate to.

I was scared to open for Jesse because he has all of these really great female fans that love him. I was scared they wouldn't accept me but when I got on stage, I found just the opposite. They welcomed me with opened arms and I got a really good response from them. I just love touring.

Jesse is really, really fun and he's great to tour with. He's just a big kidder at heart. He bought this gun that shoots little BBs and he laid one on me the other night!

My parents were in the studio when we cut 'Let Me Try' and every time I sang it they started crying, ... I finally had to ask them to leave because I couldn't sing it while they were crying.

That's not who I am.

They did an awesome job, ... Some of the lyrics, I just couldn't believe it. Some of the lyrics have lines that are right from my diary.

while there is definitely some country influences in my music since I used to listen to artists like Reba McEntire and Patsy Cline but I kind of went with the times and what was popular on the radio and it led me to the newer stuff but I don't think there's any chance that I'll ever get all of the country out of what I do.
