It occurred to me that instead of trying to make faster electronics, I should slow down time. If a signal reached an instrument at the speed of light but at that point was converted into a very slow signal, then light would indeed slow down and a conventional electronic timer could measure it. |
Often, what you are measuring absorbs sound waves. Imagine trying to use sonar on a silo of dog biscuits shaped like doughnuts. |
Reading widely and getting as much information as possible exposes you to small pieces of a giant jigsaw puzzle and even if the information is not 100% clear at the time, by shuffling it around in your mind, ideas eventually come to you. I don't really see myself as an inventor. I do, however, listen to what people say and try to understand the problem and determine whether there's a need. |
