(Sisters) was trying to sub guys in every two minutes and shoot three's. Our kids like to play the passing lanes -- Chris Bailey did an excellent job getting out there (and getting steals). |
I think the kids did a nice job of knowing where the shooters were (to start the second half). (Sisters) went stone cold, too, so that was nice. |
It caught up to us. |
It's nice having Adam in the middle. He gets his hands on a lot of balls. |
The kids are pretty happy. They should have the attitude of being able to beat anybody on any given night in our league. We want to win all of our games at home -- that's a big part of it. We still think the winner of league will have (at least) two losses. |
They had a kid who hit seven three's against us. |
They put a lot of pressure on us and our kids didn't react well. They're fast and they're a good team. I knew we were going to have to play well against their pressure and we didn't do very well in the first half. We didn't have some kids execute the game plan the way we wanted. |
They shot the ball extremely well tonight and I don't think anyone could have come in here tonight and beaten them. We got to the final 16 and I'm extremely happy for the kids that got to play. Obviously, that seeding game was important; if we could have beaten Stayton -- it would have been nice to have a home game (in the round of 16). |
This was huge. We have to protect our home court and this keeps us in second place. |
We got back on defense and actually ran set plays correctly, ran our motion offense better and shot better. |
We played really well in the first half, up 12 at halftime. The kids passed well and looked for the open man -- they showed a lot of patience. In the second half (Scappoose) stepped up on defense and offensively we got off track of what we wanted to do. |
We ran our motion offense and were patient. (La Grande) gambles so much on defense that if you are patient, you can score. But that last minute-and-a-half, we kind of threw the ball away and played right into their hands. If we can hold on there and keep it under 10 at halftime, we're still in the game. |
We were able to limit their leading scorer (Keene) from touching the ball. He still got 14 on us, but only two in the second half. The kids came back and two hard days of practice seem to have gotten the kinks out of the way. |
