Anyone who was there for those series can tell you what an electric atmosphere it was. The fans are right on top of the action. It's fun, it's loud, it's exciting and it's an intimidating place for opponents to play. We plan to capture that kind of environment again. |
For one, the arena's location is far superior to that of the Expo Center. Chaparral Ice is right on I-35, centrally located and accessible. It's a much newer facility. From a competitive standpoint, we'll no longer have to have to spend the last month of our season, our 'playoff drive,' playing on the road. And we'll be able to offer our corporate partners year-round display of their message, as opposed to a four-month window to reach our fans. |
If you're a UT football fan, you're going there. We can't compete against that. We try not to have home games when they're at home. |
We've had discussions with a number of different communities and entities about building a new arena. And while there's no timetable, I can tell you that if we were at this stage two years ago, I'd have been thrilled then. That's how far along we are in the process. |
