I though Will did a great job but the two of them is what has made our offense go because they both play off each other. One guy steps outside while one works [down low] and when that one gets worn down, he can step out and let the other guy go inside. |
I thought that was the best offensive segment we had, where the guys were recognizing what they were looking for and either scoring or finding the open man. But we never did get into that in the second half. |
I thought we were going to play a great game today. We were in a perfect frame of mind. I was surprised we didn't come back. |
I thought we'd play a good game. I'm shocked we weren't in the game with 3 or 4 minutes left. |
I told our guys if we're going to be Cinderella, you have to remember Cinderella was a beautiful young lady that turned eventually into a princess, and I don't think our guys want to be referred to as princesses. But, you know, the idea of you kiss a frog and it turns into a prince, you know, kind of like us. Before the tournament began, nobody ever heard of George Mason. |
I told them I'm going to have more fun than any other head coach in the NCAA Tournament, and I want you guys to have more fun than any other team. When I said that, I'm not sure exactly what I meant, but boy, it's sure been true. ... It's been an absolutely fantastic magic carpet ride. |
I was kidding with one of my assistants. 'We're not just an at-large team, we're an at-extra-large. And if we win today, we're going to be an at-extra-double large.' I can't tell you how much fun I'm having. |
I was shocked we weren't in the game with three or four minutes to go. I'm surprised we didn't play well. |
I watched the game. It was awesome. Go Coach L! Go George Mason! |
I?m sure there have been more hits on our Web site in the last 10 days than there were in the last five years. |
I'll leave that up to the people who make the selections. But I like my team and the way we're playing. |
I'm especially proud to represent, if we do, all those mid-majors and low-majors who aspire to get here one day. But I am still very concerned that rather than this be something that everyone can look at and enjoy and get excited about, (there's an) expectation now that George Mason has done it, they've broken the barrier, so to speak, now everybody else should be expected to do that. |
I'm having so much fun that I told the guys I just want to keep it rolling. |
I'm not going to judge based on the circumstances. I'm not going to be influenced by what the cause and effect might be. If I did that, I'd be changing my philosophy every single day. We can't live that way. We have to have a certain amount of core values that we live by. |
I've never criticized a single George Mason player. I've told them the truth and they interpret it sometimes as criticism. But I'm just being honest with them. If someone's messing up during practice, I just tell 'em. If they want to consider that something other than helpful hints, that's just the way it is. |
