As many seniors as we lost, we have a handful of guys that played a lot last year. Those guys are going to have to carry us. We may take some lumps because teams know us now, but we have a year under our belt so we know teams now, too. This isn't foreign anymore. |
Frank gives us another dimension. He's a natural running back with some wiggle when he hits the hole. He's back and healthy and ready to go. |
He ran hard. Frank (Little) is our horse. |
He's really beginning to grasp the concepts we've been teaching him as far as how to read routes and when to throw. He's a very good athlete and a smart kid. He's developing well. |
I don't like to make predictions. Last year we had no idea where we were going to fall. This season, everybody (in Division III) lost somebody, but everybody also has some solid people coming back. |
It all starts up front. If our guys can do the job up front we have the opportunity to be in games. |
It was plain and simple, we did not run the football. |
That penalty was a mistake that hurt us. |
They are going to be ready for us. It's their homecoming, so they are going to be sky-high. |
They have a very quick quarterback and they have a running back who ran very well (in the Injury Fund). If we don't do the things we're supposed to do defensively, we can get burned. |
They played hard and they played with a certain sense of emotion and perhaps at the be-ginning we didn't match it. They were hungry for that win. When you coach a team that didn't have a good season in the previous year and you're hungry for that win, sometimes that's tough to beat. |
This is something we can build on. The season is young. We just have to go back and keep working hard. |
We can't hang our heads. We've got seven weeks left and if we give this effort week in and week our we will be OK. Our guys made a great effort tonight. I have to give credit to the offensive line. The came with an attitude. |
We couldn't control the line of scrimmage, they did. They deserved to win. |
We did have mental breakdowns. There are no excuses for that. |
