A lot of our buildings were built prior to computers entering the educational world. As a result, we have difficulty all across the district in terms of having enough power outlets. That will no longer be a concern at Armstrong. This new system will allow us to run all the computers and appliances that we use in education. Armstrong will be a step ahead of the other buildings. |
At first, teachers were concerned that classrooms would be smaller, but that's not going to be the case. Our typical elementary classroom is about 900 square feet, and these rooms will be larger than that. They will be some of the largest in the district. |
That concept didn't quite work out well and the district subsequently put in temporary walls to create individual classrooms. That made it nearly impossible for one class to exit their classroom without disrupting another. It was not a good learning environment. |
We don't want them arriving and leaving at the same time as the junior high students. We want to separate them by a few minutes to relieve some of the traffic congestion. |
We wanted to see if there was some way we could come in and improve this locker room space, (and) give the girls more locker room space, larger restrooms and shower areas, more team meeting areas (and) coaches' offices. |
