I think most everybody can run if they work into it gradually. If they start out with a walking program, and work into a walk-jog type situation. The biggest thing is to be consistent. Don't try for a few days, get frustrated and stop. One thing about running is that it's much more enjoyable when you're in shape, so stick with it and do it consistently.

It's very, very frustrating. I don't think they're demonstrating much urgency, and we pay fees to get the permits fast-tracked. We're waiting four and a half months to get them done. It used to take about 90 days.

Twenty to 30 years ago there was a running boom, and the boom has kind of faded. There are other alternatives now, such as spinning (a stationary bike workout) or extreme sports. There are more options out there now than just running.
