I think a play that gets us looking at some stuff that maybe we should be talking about or be aware of or think about in more than just the surface way is a good thing. |
It tackles an issue that people don't like to talk about - pedophilia, it gets into issues like that - sexual abuse. Although they are taboo and people don't like to talk about them or look at them, they should be looked at, and it's done in such an effective way in this play. |
The playwright argues that we live in a culture of victimization, sometimes, in which people want to dwell in the trauma, in the traumatic event that has happened to them instead of truly confronting it and moving on. |
