So far we haven't grown enough to sell or really cook with yet, though. |
The kids just love being with nature and discovering new things. This is a wonderful way for students to learn a respect for nature. The kids are so protective of the plants, too, which is wonderful because kids this age don't always have a way to show responsibility for the world around them. This gives them such a wonderful sense of pride. |
Up until now we've just been growing things in pots, starting them out at school and then sending them home with the kids. Some of the plants lived, others didn't. |
We started off with 16 kids and we've had up to 25, but we've capped it at 20 because we want quality time for students. We've also got up to 10 kids on the waiting list. |
We were a garden club without a garden. How pathetic is that? |
