Businesses would rather go to a state where the employees have the right to join a union or not to join a union. In that sense, then, it's sort of a zero-sum game - where they are competing with and attracting business from other states. |

Unions drag down business, growth is slower, and right-to-work laws weaken the unions. So when the unions are weaker, you tend to have more economic growth. |
