As soon as we saw it, we just busted out laughing. The guy was completely humiliated. |
Don't have it so a guy can hit into a 50-yard landing area and we have to hit into a 20-yard spot. We should try to make it fair for every player. Don't give a few players that big of an advantage. |
I knew it all last year, ... My thought was, I've got to play myself into the Masters. That happened to me in '98, too. My Open exemption from '93 was running out. That was my main motivation when I won the Open again at Olympic Club in '98, that I had to play my way back into the majors, at least get a top-15... I've been working on some stuff, shot some good scores but just haven't been able to put up four in a row. |
I know a lot of guys love it, but I couldn't care if I ever played it again. And I've won here. |
I still don't put myself in the same category as the other guys (on the Tour). |
I watch guys do it all the time and they're doing it wrong. They don't know what they're doing. |
I'm going to the gym. I've got to get stronger, I guess. |
I'm not going to say it could never be that way. But I don't think (Woods) is quite there right now. |
If I'd done this last week there wouldn't be a controversy. If I was such a lock to be on the Ryder Cup team, I should have made it by myself. I've got no one to blame but myself. |
It's got no chance. You can't ban metal spikes. |
Just another example. We see it week after week. The guys who hit it 290 — and that's not chopped liver — are getting penalized for not being able to hit it 320. |
Part of his learning process is helping other guys. |
The last round of the British Open, (Woods) was flawless. That's the sort of thing we kind of fear. If he plays like that, he's impossible to beat. |
The Masters is such a pressure cooker, I think anything would feel relaxed and laid-back by comparison. But I also think it would feel that way no matter when they play this event. |
The perception now is that (Woods) is still the guy to beat. But I don't think guys think it's a given that he's going to win. |
