Thirty-two jockeys were tested today before racing. They are given something called a no-go test which registers either a green or red light. Richard Quinn was the only jockey to receive a red light. It's a borderline result. A reading of below 17 micrograms is not sufficient to have any effect upon a rider's performance. |
We debated long and hard about the issues over remounting. We felt that a ban would be using a sledgehammer to crack a nut and were confident that the welfare of the horse would remain at the forefront of owners', trainers' and jockeys' minds. We will be keeping the situation under constant review and would not rule out any further changes or amendments in the future. |
