Corey's getting a lot of Division II looks already, but he's improving by the day. |
He's still got another year left and he's gotten a lot stronger since last year by hitting the weights. He's about 210 pounds, which is about 15 pounds more than last year. He's starting to assert himself as one of the best big men in the City.... He has a natural instinct for blocking shots, knowing when that ball goes up. He gets off the ground pretty quickly. In his mind, he wants to block every shot. He's such a fierce shot-blocker. He makes the shooter think every time they come in his area, every time. |
Our perimeter shooting has improved since last year, which is opening up our inside game a little more. |
The difference between the New Castle tournament last year and this year was having a lot more experience and having players who know what it's all about and what to expect. The guys played hard and they played like seniors. Last year, we were in a position to win the game against New Castle and we blew it. This year, the seniors stepped up and we won it. |
They're just too good in so many ways. They're deep, they're big, they're strong, they're fast, almost like a small-college team. |
We like to keep our schedule very competitive because we want to stay at that high level of play. |
Winning the City League championship is important, but we look at the state playoffs as well. When we step outside the City, we want to prove our worth outside of the league. |
