It really got us out of our rhythm, and we never got back in it. |
It'll take more than that to keep me out. |
It's ironic I ended up here, ... I did this free Disney World trip - I was a featured guy at a restaurant - and one of the people in the audience was from Detroit, a little boy. And he asked, 'Would you ever consider coming to Detroit?' This was before I got released from the Colts. I said, 'I don't know.' Then my mother-in-law stood up in the back and said, 'We hope so! We'll get it done this year!' |
It's like, when you can't throw it to anybody else, well, Marcus is going to find a way to get open. And the confidence that Joey is finding in throwing it to me, he's going to get those same rhythms in Chuck and Roy and Mike and Kevin (Johnson). |
It's not easy at all, |
It's pretty simple. I think I made the catch, but the official in the press box didn't see it that way, and that's what we've got to go by. |
It's really motivating me to press on. |
Joey had an excellent game. He really threw some good balls. When you start playing with confidence, you can do that. |
Neither of us had been playing; both of us were rusty. But he found a way to get back in the rhythm, hit the next shot and move on. You have to have that kind of mentality to play quarterback. |
Some other safeties in the league, you can say they have a history of making cheap shots. If it was somebody else, I'd say, 'Yeah, cheap shot.' But I know Mike a little bit ... and I don't see him as a cheap-shot guy at all. He's just a hard-nosed football player. |
Tell Amani I'm fine. Tell her everything is great. |
That dude is a fearless competitor. He hates losing. |
That was probably the hardest hit I've had in 10 years, ... I guess I blacked out for a few seconds. I remember reaching for the ball, and the next thing I remember was seeing (trainer) Al Bellamy's ugly mug asking me if I was OK. |

That's the thing they take pride in the most. They make you try to beat them with the passing game. They bring a lot of guys down in the box and force you to throw it, and they executed their game plan to a T. |
