The good news about making no birdies today is that it can't possibly happen two days in a row. |
The good news is I hung in there and only shot 2 over without making any birdies but the bad news is I was in a position to go nine or 10 under and put some space in between me and the rest of the guys, |
The Vancouver course had a ton of trees, small greens, deep rough, ... I anticipate the same sort of thing at Harding, from what I've heard. |
There's a long ways to go. JJ played a great round and I saw what he was doing out there. You know you've got to make birdies. It really doesn't change your thinking any. |
This is changing my year-end plans a little, |
This is where you want to start out. Everybody here won a tournament. That's a big thing nowadays. |
Today I felt good. Actually, starting out I almost felt too relaxed. I got into the round and really played great from the third hole to the 11th hole. I played okay on the back, but birdied the last hole which was nice. Two real good ones there. |
Week in and week out, the kids have more game. But on my week, I've still got a high skill level, and that extra bit of experience can make the difference. |
What time did I get up? Two in the morning. My wife had a sneezing fit and woke me - it wasn't worth going back to bed. |
You know, you ask me on Wednesday if I could shoot 10-under par on this course and I'd have told you no, ... Ask me now, I'll tell you yeah. It's like this every week; guys surprise me. |
