I think at times I've lost track of just having fun and not thinking too much, |
I think college football and this whole atmosphere here, and being with my friends and my teammates that I've been with for four years, that it's ultimately more satisfying [than going pro next year]. It will make me happier than any amount of money can make me happy. |
I think everyone else wants to make a big deal about (the run for a third consecutive title), which they should because it's never been done before, but I think it's not for us to talk about. Why are we going to talk about it if we haven't done anything? Maybe we can talk about it after the game, if we win. Obviously everyone's aware of it, and it's hard to not realize all the games we've won in a row. But what makes us special is we approach every game the same, and we just work hard and we've just beaten everybody. We don't get caught up in all the other stuff. |
I think some teams want to know where No.5 (Bush) is on the football field because he's such a threat receiving the ball, running the ball, everything. Maybe you want to double (cover) him or (put) linebackers on him. I don't know how defenses approach him. I just know we try to get him involved in as many ways as we can. |
I think the defense answered the call to a good offense that's been doing very well all year. |
I think the publicity I've gotten (at USC), that's what's prepared me for the NFL just because that is the closest thing you're going to get to it. Obviously, it's not the NFL, but wherever I do go I'm going to have great preparation. I've been through it, I've seen everything, done tons of interviews, seen a lot of things happen. I think I'm very prepared. |
I think the quarterback position is mostly mental. Physically, you've got to be able to throw the football and run around and make plays. But the biggest part is preparation. Preparing yourself in the film room, or on the chalkboard with your coach. |
I think we proved tonight that we are the No. 1 team in the country without a doubt. No doubt. |
I thought I did OK. I'm just doing my job. |
I want to be known as a football player, not some Hollywood guy or not some party guy, which I'm completely not. I rarely set foot in Hollywood. |
I was a little tight out there in the first half, you know it was an emotional day. I was off, obviously. |
I was going to do it, anyway. I wanted to get in there. You don't think in those times. |
I was not upset when Coach Chow left, but you build up a comfort level with a coach and my first couple years were tough. My last couple years with him were great. We developed a personal relationship. We talked about all sorts of things. Once Coach Chow left, I was like, I'm happy for him. I still keep in contact with him. |
I was off all night. I don't really know what was wrong. I threw two bad interceptions. But what matters is how we finished the game. |
I was walking around with a smile on my face [at halftime]. It was fun. We haven't had too many close games. |
