 Bates and Rich have only played a few times in practice together. Bates has a lot of experience coming off of last year and Rich has grown up a lot this summer, practicing every day for four to five hours. It was really good for him to go in there with Bates because he has so much experience.

 Considering this is our first match of the season, it's just a lot of young kids thrown in right away. Going straight into our first match and having it be a district match sets up a lot of pressure.

 That shows a strong mental game.

 They're just a real young pair, both sophomores, and they've never played varsity tennis before. They went out and played excellent. Willis was older and more experienced, but they kept their game intact. It shows how determined they are to win and get better.
