(FHS) is going to be much more representative of our society. I greatly look forward to getting working with the whole school. |
[That visibility's a huge boon to Stephen Daiter Gallery. Having started off and since maintained its core practice as a private dealership, what's happening in the art culture doesn't really matter if it isn't helping bring in new clients. And the place to harvest the greater share of those new clients in Chicago is River North.] Steve is very firmly committed to River North as the primary location for the gallery scene, ... And he has two main reasons that he cites--besides the obvious that this is the primary gallery scene--parking and transportation; the CTA and parking. But River North is the established art community, bar none--and West Loop is the younger gallery area--I mean, Rhona Hoffman and Carrie Secrist are established galleries, but as a district, they have a younger feel. Stephen had already been established on the national and international scene as a private dealer, then wanted to take the next step. The next step was logically the gallery. The biggest benefit from the gallery half is bringing in local clients, and that's something that's always been the biggest challenge for us: trying to attract local attention. I think, for us, up to this point, we've always operated as a destination gallery. If you want to come to Daiter Gallery and see a great show, you're always welcome, but you've got to come find us. |
Education is the great equalizer in society. It can be the thing that lifts (students) out of their predicaments - they could be first generation immigrants, it could be poverty, or overcoming the stereotypes associated with race and ethnicity. |
I absolutely loved high school, |
I have four young children I will be spending time with, ... I do expect to be one of the first people here and one of the last to leave. |
I want to continue what (former Principal) Ralph Olsen has done, but I'm not Ralph Olsen, |
I'd say we were probably a lot busier than last year. Sales were up a little bit. |
In Boston they have gone from large autonomous high schools to to smaller schools within the same building. |
In Newton there are two high schools serving fairly different populations. |

His considerable experience will be a strong asset as we focus on the continued growth of our expedited transportation services business. |
Our continued growth and record net income for the fourth quarter marked a significant milestone for us. These results demonstrate that we have emerged from an extended period of restructuring as a solid and profitable organization. Our outstanding employees have worked tirelessly to execute this turnaround and deserve all the credit. |
Our relocation to Michigan opens a new and exciting chapter in the Company's history, ... Buchanan has long been Express-1's home and has served this business well through its years of growth. Our move enables Segmentz to eliminate redundant costs and operate in the heart of the Midwest, where a majority of our expedited transportation occurs. |
The contractor made a pretty firm commitment to move from the (temporary classrooms) to the E wing, ... It is a big hurdle for us because we can get rid of the modular classrooms. |
The public high school needs to be all things to all people. We have to provide the challenge for those who have to option of private school. At the same time we need to serve the needs of those who don't. |
Unfortunately, from what the superintendent told me, all I can do is go down, |
