I know what he's going through, I can relate to him. I know the feeling of going out there and having a long season. It seems much longer than it really is. |
I pitched well and got a win, ... Now I've got one more start to give myself a good finish. |
I think I was feeling a bit for my pitches in the first two innings. I started letting a couple pitches go a little bit later, and it helped out a lot. I was able to throw a couple harder than normal. It makes your offspeed stuff more effective. I don't know if my arm loosened up or what. |
I think one win can change things. That's all it takes. It was a big win tonight, a fight to the end. Tomorrow, everybody's going to come in knowing we're on the winning side of things. |
I think we need to continue to improve because we're still young and I think we will. Now that we have a few years in, we know we can pitch at this level. Now, it's a matter of winning more at this level. |
I was leaving a lot of balls over the plate. I pretty much did what you don't want to do as a pitcher. |
I was leaving a lot of balls over the plate. I pretty much did what you don't want to do as a pitcher. It seemed like I was getting behind hitters, and when I did get ahead, I wasn't able to put them away. |
I wish I could pitch this well everywhere, ... especially at home this year. |
I'd like to see him back. I think he's come a long way as a manager, |
I'll be in Kenny's ear as much as he'll let me be, and I'm pretty sure the other guys will be, too. |
I'm sad to see him go. I would've liked to see him get another year, but these things happen in sports. |
I've been getting a lot of runs. They've been scoring a lot of runs for me. They picked me up several times, |
I've been getting a lot of runs. This is just one game, ... Obviously the past two games we haven't scored any runs. But that's going to change. We've got a good offense. But there's going to be days where even the best hitting teams are going to get shut out. |
It looked like he was trying to feel for his breaking ball a little bit, that's what it looked like he threw in the dirt. Fastball was coming out good. Probably been putting a little pressure on himself, trying to do too much. First time out there, for any pitcher, it's the first time out there. You don't know what to expect. You're just trying to go out there and get a good feel for it, really. |
It was big. It would've been a 2-0 count [to John Buck] with runners at first and second. It was a perfect throw. He didn't even have to put a tag. Where he threw it, you couldn't have thrown it to a better spot. |
