I think it's true that nothing exists outside negotiations or a last resort of eminent domain to allow the city to realize its vision, but anything other than working it out is a mess for everyone. |
There's no doubt we assumed the City Council might not approve this, but we didn't assume the administration would do an about-face and not back a deal we'd been working on for more than two years. We always thought we'd have the mayor's support. |
We would have liked this to be a joint venture. Nobody wins by a fight over Downtown. Nobody needs that, but we're not enthusiastic about spending more money on plans because we don't know what might happen. |
