If it gets to the point that I don't feel that electricity when the dogs take off, I'll quit.
In the older days when we ran the 500-mile race, we started in Helena and ran to Park Lake before doing the restart in Lincoln. That wasn't a great trail for dogs. It was too hard.
It slows down in the summer. But it's really a full-time job.
It's just very exciting to see a year's worth of work come together.

The race owes its beginning to Camp Rimini and the sled dog training that went on there in World War II. I'm excited about it. I think this race is going to be a really good one.
We have a lot of support out of Helena for that. We're hoping this begins a new tradition by starting the race in Rimini.
