This was the first time we were able to implement a new system in a game situation and I excited about our progress. We faced one of the top programs in the south region and it's a great opportunity to be able to face such a high caliber team like Samford. |
| Today was another great opportunity to play against two very well coached teams. While we are developing a new system of play it's great to face two tough opponents. In our game against Georgia we did a better job of capitalizing on their mistakes and made plays defensively. Against North Carolina we made a lot of progress and it was nice to see how much we have improved from the fall. |
| We really appreciate the city of Orange Beach for hosting us and for all their support along with the effort that goes along with hosting a first-class event. We appreciate the opportunity to play here each year and hope to continue to come back in the future. |
| We're excited to play Samford. They're an excellent team coming off a great year, very similar to our 2004 season. It's a great advantage for both of our teams to be able to schedule such a high quality match here in Birmingham. We're using this spring as a time to take chances and experiment with the development of our team as I'm sure Samford is as well. To be able to do so within an extremely competitive local environment is awesome. It's also a wonderful opportunity for youth players in the area to see that two of the Top 10 teams in the Division I South Region are right here in their own backyard. |
