We can't continue to have oil prices rise without impacting prices and economic activity. Somewhere along the line it will have a negative impact. |
We continue to go down in full force and technology stocks are one total disaster. Fear of pockets of recession continue to grow in the market and, while disappointment over the Fed didn't help, that's just an excuse [to sell]. |
We did get surprising oil inventory data, but it's still below that $60 range. The market is running against options expirations, which are causing technical difficulty. |
We didn't see any major change out of France or Germany, ... While the reaction to Mr. Powell's speech at the United Nations obviously was positive, I think when people realized that Germany was not changing its stance and France wasn't softening too much, it was back to worries of uncertainty. |

We had a fairly sharp drop yesterday and this is an extension of that, |
We had a little surprise with the Bush announcement right away and that gave us a little hope, but the market is still faced with all the same problems that have hurt us for weeks, |
We had a very explosive rally yesterday, and gas prices are moving a little higher this morning. |
We had negative unemployment data, but the market's not focusing on that. The market continues to focus on the news from Iraq. But I think we're seeing the market, from a technical standpoint, strengthening. Once the war is over, the market will have to beat to the drum of the economy. But, for now, it's dancing to the tune of war. |
We had some positive earnings reports, but I think the fact that we had jobless claims that were above and beyond what was expected derailed some enthusiasm, |
We have a lot to get through next week, but I think the advance can continue. There seems to be a lot of enthusiasm returning to the market. |
We have a very mixed situation. There are a few bright spots, but it's a bit disappointing that there hasn't been a follow through from what we saw Friday (with stocks rising). However, that is to be expected as the market responds to oversold conditions and tries to set a base. |
We have here a cautious market, and it will continue to be cautious until we get through some major data and Greenspan's testimony on Capitol Hill, ... Also, investors were taking profits from last week's rally. |

We have some technology stocks moving higher and the large amounts of cash sitting on the sidelines will be coming back into the market. These are just relief rallies with investors trying to pick up bargains. |
