The dreams of young people from around the world who aspire to compete in the Olympic Games in softball and baseball were dealt a setback today. We are disappointed the IOC chose to not reconsider its decision.

The federal government has to understand the game has changed and we'll have to change to be competitive. We don't want to enter and not win, or not have a good chance to win. We don't want cities to be spending an awful lot of money and not get a full chance to be victorious.

The financial condition when the new board was elected was very unattractive. We were surprised to find that major bank loans were necessary to fund 'ongoing operations', and that the United States Olympic Committee was basically in debt.

The integrity of the game is everything.
