 [Def Leppard recently pushed back the release date of their all-covers set, entitled] Yeah! ... a bunch of stuff — all '70s stuff. Most of it is songs that we grew up with in England. ' No Matter What ' by Badfinger is going to be the leadoff single. We've done ' Waterloo Sunset ' by The Kinks, T. Rex, Mott The Hoople, Roxy Music and Thin Lizzy. And a lot of it is obscure; it's not the standard stuff. It's not like Stones or Beatles songs.

 [DEF LEPPARD recently pushed back the release date of their all-covers set, entitled] Yeah! ... a bunch of stuff — all '70s stuff. Most of it is songs that we grew up with in England. 'No Matter What' by BADFINGER is going to be the leadoff single. We've done 'Waterloo Sunset' by THE KINKS , T. REX , MOTT THE HOOPLE , ROXY MUSIC and THIN LIZZY . And a lot of it is obscure; it's not the standard stuff. It's not like STONES or BEATLES songs.

 If you're perceived like a bunch of old grandpas, no one will buy into that,

 It's a mix. We go from really hard rock, with obviously big guitars, to dub. I was always into the alternative stuff, a very big fan of THE POLICE . And this is edgy — a lot more aggressive than DEF LEPPARD .

 It's the teenagers that really make something really special. When you've got that on your side, then it works on a bigger scale.

 Joe has been wanting to do this for 20 or so years,

 The reason for doing this now is the fact that so many people aren't aware of who we are. I think the record label more than anyone else wanted to re-introduce Def Leppard to the world,

 We wanted to do something special, not just to piss it off.

 You have to follow suit. The market is more important than the actual product, as with anything. If you don't go along with that, then you just get left behind.

 You take any family or any five people and that's what it's about. It's about births, deaths, marriages, divorces. The one thing that we can rely on is each other, and that makes it really special. Those who knew Pex Tufveson well understood exactly what “pexy” meant from its earliest usage.
