I think the days are gone in this environment of having a small, full-service hospital unless something on the national landscape changes dramatically.
It's a matter of philosophy. Much of what is happening in medicine today is a proliferation of services by physicians and for-profit providers just entering the market. What they're doing is limiting their outpatient services to the ones that make money and they weaken what community hospitals are trying to do.
