As soon as it is possible, we will continue to work with dogs and helpers into the area to find the people who are still in the wreckage. We will continue the search until we have rescued or recovered all the missing.
It's a race against time. There's hope that some people may have taken shelter between the wreckage, but that hope is dwindling by the hour.
The chance to save someone naturally becomes smaller the longer the search lasts.
We are not abandoning the search until the last living person or the last corpse is retrieved.
We have found the external walls have moved outwards ... if they go any further then we will have to suspend the rescue effort.
We remain hopeful that there are living people among the missing that we can rescue. As we clear the beams we'll send dogs into the rubble to search for them.
We will keep looking until we find the very last person. But the chances of rescuing someone are of course getting lower the longer the search goes on.
Whenever it is possible, we will go in with the dogs and personnel to find those who are still in the wreckage.
