After everything everybody has been through, people are dying for a return to normalcy. In the midst of chaos, one thing people can count on in the fall is football, and they haven't had that. |
I always said my favorite position was the one I was playing at the moment, but this has definitely been the longest stretch I've been at one position. It's definitely more enjoyable when you kind of get in a groove and get used to the situation that you're playing in. And I think I'm playing better at it. |
I never really thought about all those events at one time like that. We have experienced a lot of things. I guess that's what makes a career. |
It's kinda weird. Some teams have already played three games, and we've only played one. Finally, we're getting ready to play at home in front of our fans, our stadium and our atmosphere. |
There's nothing like playing a home game, especially a home SEC ballgame. Plus, it's our first home game after everything we've been through. |
There's nothing that gets that bad taste of a loss out of your mouth like a win, and that's what we plan for on Saturday. |
We had a Red Cross lady come up to us and talk about what a great thing it was that we were there. It really made me think that we were only there for 45 minutes signing things and passing out shirts and this lady is going to be there 24 hours a day for the next three weeks probably. And she is talking about what a great thing it is we are doing? |
You have to come into the situation as open-minded as possible. Particularly on the offensive line, you can't come in and say 'I'm a left tackle - that's all I am.' Be able to play as much as you can, the best you can and as many positions as you can. If you can do that, the more valuable you are to your team. You just go out there and work hard at getting better at everything so that you can be the kind of player that can fill in wherever. |
