So little of the anatomy is preserved that these fossils do not teach us much new about chimpanzee anatomical evolution. There is no logical necessity why chimps had to remain in the forest.
Teeth are the part of the body that gets preserved most frequently. All things being equal, you're more likely to find teeth than anything else.
